A Long way...

it had been a while since i update here....had been quite busy... who are not busy right? ;) ok.... got to spend more time blogging about everything under the sun....

so.. life had been roller coaster... and work too....

but i did took some of the time off to get some nice pictures....

I also did went to Tarbush to eat... Apparently the food was good.. and reasonable priced. for those food lover should go check it out.

my classmate actually owned the place... not bad ya.. :)

Burger King in Penang

It had been long wait since Burger King being introduce in Malaysia. All the while only available in southern part of Malaysia starting from Ipoh to Johor but not in Penang! Finally it's here.

As usual following the crowd, we went to try out the new opening restaurant. Given and knowing they can't cope with the crowd it is as usual long queue of waiting at the ordering counter. So you can imagine that in a fast food restaurant queuing :)

The restaurant is located in a very secluded place.. Not along a heavy traffic road or inside a mall that many had expected when they start posting for hiring restaurant managers in past few months... Maybe it's in their plan but for now( yeah now) it is kind of a place where no one knows :) but given the view as well as the first tenant of the roll of shoplots this place might turn into a happening place when pack with the rest of the F&B outlet.

The air condition in the restaurant r super cold! One might need a sweater to go with the meal. Looking around the crowd was all walks of ppl got factory worker, businessman, chef, students, sitting and waiting for the final food to be order n deliver to them ( serve by their friends). A count seem like 4 tables (groups) having their food while 8 others are still waiting.

I guess they r short of staff or there are no sign of self cleaning :) all the customer left their table just like that after their meals and next ppl had to do some self cleaning to get to sit :)

Some guest seem to know the style and clean up the place after they had their meals but some others just walk out.
Maybe there r limited chili/tomatoes sauce that trigger some customers to take before they are gone mentality ;).

Interestingly the renovation still continue but they already start their business... So on and off u will hear drilling sound from the wall and also the contractor will bring the ladder in and out while u are having your meal.
20mins past.... I'm still waiting :) ....

I guess this is what "Have It Your Way" :)

After 30 mins no sign of their signature burger... Worst, they r saying they run out of whopper ... I wonder is it bad planning or they don't expect the crowd to be that huge?


Overall I will not go there for the time being until 3 months later when they had better service and of course having a much skilled worker.
Disappointed for no Whopper :(

Disapointed customers

Today 13/01/2010 got this wonderful promotion from Kenny Roger. If you wear RED and u purchase their quater chicken set got free quatrer chicken set as well sort of like buy one free one I think I got the promo right :)
So as alot of Penangites our friend or I should say ALOT OF my Friends did wear red today or to work too :) some called to d restaurant to check on the status and by the time 11.30am ppl start pilling up at most of the KR outlet :) for Penang I believe airport, queensbay and bj today must be alot of red t-shirt ppl.

To join in the fun with my friend I join those who wear red (since there gonna be free 1 set anyway) so when we arrived at queensbay, the restaurant were packed with ppl and the queue was sooooooooooooooooooooo long. By looking at that u know u not going to get ur lunch any time soon. :)
I would say this is a perfect marketing ads and also it work! Free advertise and it does boost the economy. It not just served one restaurant but it help the entire mall restaurant. Those ppl that arrive early and still can't get in will just eat at other restaurant such as McD, Sakae Sushi, Nandos, Taiwan Bulls, Oldtown, even Jusco foodcourt. U see alot of RED ppl in queensbay and they r suppose to eat at Kenny Roger :) but they r at others restaurant!! Oh yeah there r some shy ppl wear a jacket to cover the red too :)

Here was one disapointed customer who can't enjoy d promotion :)

Queens food Market

If u had been to Penang queensbay mall u should aware that there is a new food court same floor as d GSC level. It is called Queens Food Market.
So far the food selection not bad and the price are reasonable. If you do visit try drop by there for lunch or dinner :)

Our Long Vacation...

Over the last few days both CM and I flew down south to Singapore! and we actually really enjoyed our stay at my sister place. We really enjoy their hospitality and also the fun of being a boy parent :)

Will post up some of the event we did there later... but before that... we had a really nice chili crab and ALOT of crab! :)

here i will let you all view some of the nice dish we had there :)

a salted egg crab.... chili crab.. and a vegi..

ah.. also not forgetting sister's home cook crab :)

hmm... thinking of the crab... I kind of miss it now!! :)

Agape Home Rice Day 23

Ok... it is a bit late but i still need to infom.. hahaha
Saturday cooking was a big blow out :)
I had my record time of 6.30pm sold out.. but this Agape Home rice seem to sold out at 6.10pm... which 20 mins ahead of the time. :)
Even we had cook 12kg of rice (normally we cook only 10kg of rice)
Overall I got good comments from the "customer"
We sell RM3 per set.. of course with the cabbage and carrot together.

Here is how you can do it as well:
1) chicken meat (drumstick/wings/tight or breastmeat)
2) long beans
3) Galic
4) mushrooms
5) dried shrimps
6) Salted fish / chinese sausage (optional)
7) Rice (of course)
8) Dark sauce
9) Soy sauce
10)Oyster sauce
11)sugar
12)oil :)



First, deep fry the galic and add ur sliced mushroom into the wok stir fry it for 30 sec...then add in the chicken. Add in all ur sauce :) dark sauce...soy sauce...oyster sauce...and a little bit of chicken... let it cook for 2 mins... the end result should have alot of sauce :) remember to taste it first... it should hv a very strong taste do not dilute it.

Put it in a container and set it aside...

Second, same..deep fry galic and add in the dried shrimps... stir fry it for 30 sec... then add in the long beans...add some soy sauce... let it cook for 1 mins ....

Thrid, prepare the rice, and once you finish cleaning it, heat up your wok, add some oil and galic..deep fry your galic for 15 sec, then add the rice into the wok and stir fry the rice, mix all the rice with the galic... then add in the chicken that you had prepare, pour it in to the wok also :) mix it until u got all your rice even color :)
Then Add in the long beans into the wok... and mix it :P

Off the fire and your rice are ready to go into the Rice Pot :)

Here is the ticky part :) too much water will cause your rice to be sticky... too little water will cause your rice to be under cook...

So.... that is base on your own judgement... try and error will help in this case :) be prepare to be white mice:)

For those who want to add salted fish and the chinese sausage, so add them in before you add water :) make sure they are inside the rice as well :)

After you add the water, do add some dark sauce and soy sauce (if the color of the water are too diluted.

Then go for it.. cook the rice :) once it pop up ready :) your meals are ready :)
